About me

I’ve had over thirty years experience designing and developing multimedia content for all sorts of platforms, delivery methods and clients. I’ve made hundreds of CDROMs with Director, countless interactive applications with Flash and have spent much of the 21st century making websites with HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP, MySQL &c. These days I mostly do video-based animation, music composition and sound design.

I’m a dab-hand with Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects and Audition, can handle a camera, know a thing or two about video formats and am fluent in sound recording, sound effects and music (composition, recording and editing). Oh, and I can also do the odd voiceover too, if required - ask me about my Hugh Laurie impression. Actually, don't, The Wife says it doesn't sound anything like him.

In my spare time I like to ponder the nature of universe and to make biscuits. Well, when I say 'make biscuits', I really mean 'help The Wife to make biscuits' by doing the initial testing of the final baked versions (some people just call that 'eating biscuits') and doing the washing up of the befouled implements.

I am also a serial parenthesiser (no, really) and my penchant for parenthesis is second only to my desire to hyphenate - I just can't-help-it.

Jack Reacher - The Film

Client: Transworld Publishers

Agency: Youniverse Digital Ltd

Part of Transworld's campaign to support the Jack Reacher film, this microsite was a repurposed version of a larger Jack Reacher site that I made with Youniverse. The full site had to be taken down so that it didn't clash with the film marketing.

This version includes the full books section from the original site - which has video and audio complete with live waveforms, married with a desktop/drawer section that promoted the film. As was standard at the time, this microsite was produced in Flash (as was the original site).

My role in this project was to build the whole site in Flash (AS3) based on the design and graphics by Alex at Youniverse.

Both the original and this microsite are no no-more, consigned to the world-wide-landfill - apart from this version that I keep hidden in this murky back-water.

You will need Flash to see it working, so I've added a couple of screen-grabs just-in-case you're modern and can't do Flash - I've also included a few from the original site too. I'm just too nice.

Take a look
